How Is The Las Vegas Valley Performing During The Holidays?

Everything Slows Down During This Time Of Year

During the holidays, the real estate industry slows down across the country. From people vacationing to simply wanting to spend time with their families, not much happens. But it’s not just buyers who pause from real estate activity, sellers do too. In fact, it’s arguable the main reason why the market slows down during the holidays is because sellers don’t want people coming through their homes during that time. Regardless of whether it is a good market or a bad market, less inventory equals less real estate transactions – which can be interpreted as “slow”.

The Latest And Greatest

Looking at single family homes across the valley, as of the week of December 5th, there were 7,121 on the market. Last week, there were 7,483. Looking back at the week of November 14th there were 7,715. And when we look back at the peak it was the week of October 17th when there were 8,159 single family residences on the market. Basically, SFR inventory is down approx. 1,000 in a little less than two months.

Moving Along
